Sukay Park was built by the city of Bursa as a tourist attraction. The special feature is the island, which is accessible through a tunnel and can be rented for events. The rental of the island is a significant source of income, as this service is season-independent and the gastronomy benefits from it all year round. Within 8 years, 10 more such facilities were built in many cities in Turkey to make the regions more attractive and increase the recreational value of the city.
"As a city, we invested in tourism infrastructure to attract more tourists and at the same time provide attractive leisure facilities to the population. It also creates new jobs and increases tax revenue. For any city, a RIXEN water ski cableway is a worthwhile attraction and investment." - Recep Atepe, Mayor of Bursa
